Licence watch

What it is

A record of a licence's scope, regulator, jurisdiction and status, with a visible history when the status changes.

Who it's for

Payment companies, exchanges, card programmes and other regulated businesses.

Steps
  1. Ask for a record with the request form at proofrail.me/#claim (choose Licence).
  2. Give the licence number and the regulator.
  3. Proof Rail checks it against the regulator's source where one is supported. Otherwise a reviewer confirms it.
  4. The record shows the licence, the date it was checked and its status.
  5. If the status changes, the record shows the change.
Example
  • Example data, not a real record: "Payment institution licence, regulator and country shown, checked on a date".
What you'll see
Screenshot to come
A record showing the licence details, its status and the date it was checked.
Good to know
  • Where a supported regulator source exists, the licence is re-checked on a schedule.
