Is this real? check

What it is

Paste a website, X handle, email address or wallet and see in seconds whether Proof Rail has verified it.

Who it's for

Anyone about to trust a link, an account, an email or a payment address. It is free and needs no account.

Steps
  1. Go to proofrail.me/check, or use the search box at the top of the home page.
  2. Paste one thing: a website or link, an X handle such as @name or an x.com link, an email address, a wallet address that starts with 0x, or a record ID that starts with RP-.
  3. Press Check now.
  4. Read the headline. "Verified by Proof Rail." means what you pasted is on an active Proof Rail record.
  5. Open the record to see exactly what was checked and when.
  6. If it is not verified, ask the owner to get verified with Proof Rail before you rely on it.
In plain words
Verified by Proof Rail.
What you pasted is on an active Proof Rail record. For a brand, it says which brand the channel belongs to.
Lookalike: not verified.
A website or address that looks like a verified brand's, but is not on that brand's official channels. The page names the brand's real website. Most unknown handles, sites or wallets show 'No verified record found for this.' instead. That only means they have not been verified.
Declared, not verified.
A brand listed it as its own, but Proof Rail has not checked it. Treat it as unconfirmed.
On record, but not active.
It is on a record that has expired, been suspended or been revoked, so it does not verify anything today.
No verified record found for this.
It is not on any public Proof Rail record. That does not mean something is wrong. It only means it has not been verified.
Example
  • @ProofRailme: Verified by Proof Rail, on record RP-XH7NO2BN7UFR.
  • proofrail.me and hello@proofrail.me: Verified by Proof Rail, on the same record.
  • The wallet 0x6f54035765c2894d0ca5ee53bd0722e51f1d339e: Verified by Proof Rail.
  • @unknownname9876, an X handle with no record: No verified record found for this.
What you'll see
Screenshot to come
The /check page after checking @ProofRailme: the headline "Verified by Proof Rail.", the record card and a link to open the record.
Good to know
  • X handles are at most 15 characters. A plain word without @ is searched as a company or brand name.
  • Nothing you paste is stored.
  • "Verified" means the value is on an active record. Open the record to see how it was checked: some records are reported by their owner rather than checked against a source, and the record says so.
  • If what you checked is yours and not verified yet, the page offers a Get verified button.
